English Volunteer Program

Banff National Park is Canada's oldest national park, established in 1885 and is also in a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wild animals roam the valleys, eagles soar over the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and pure water streams into rivers from 1,000 glaciers.  Jasper National Park, established in 1907, is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies with 10,878 square kilometers of mountain wilderness. Volunteers learn, do, connect, and celebrate together as they experience the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks; find personal inspiration and connection to nature and each other; explore and contribute to conservation. Volunteers will split their time between Banff and Jasper National Parks.  They will participate in ongoing learning opportunities about Jasper and Banff National Parks through group activities, daily park jobs, and special park events.  Volunteers will also represent the Parks and communicate with park visitors.  They will hike trails and observe, record, and report on trail conditions, wildlife sightings, and ecological indicators. Volunteers will also take part in work on trails, and at day use areas, invasive weed pulls, and clean ups, and perform wildlife fence checks.
